Teri is a true Memphian, with deep roots tied to each part of the districts she is currently running in (District 10). Teri graduated from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Human Development and Leadership Management. She’s a devoted mother to her wonderful adult sons Anthony and Terry. Teri is a firm believer it takes a Village to raise a child. She instilled in her sons through integrity, academics, passion, and most importantly love you can achieve anything.

Teri has a lifelong passion for our youth and seniors within our communities. Teri is the founder of The Awakening Minds Neighborhood Development, a business consultant for Harbor Town Wellness Spa and she volunteers with Orange Mound Collaborative. In her spare time Teri enjoys being a part of Cherokee Heights Neighborhood Association and Couture Cares TN/ Her Prom Closet.

Her journey started in the Memphis City Schools system as a Teacher Assistant at Cherokee Elementary, Mason YMCA of Memphis as Youth District Director & Multicultural Achiever Director, Shelby County Charter School Hanley Middle as the Family and Community Engagement and Behavior Strategy Specialist, Orange Mound and Harrison’s Funeral Home as the Family and Funeral Service Representative, and MPLOY Memphis as a Youth Specialist. All these experiences helped develop resilience for the people throughout all communities.
